The Internet has a relatively long history. During that time, we have not only become familiar with the Internet, but we have used it for a variety of purposes, from trading to banking to learning. Even today, however, there are still those who say it is dangerous. And in fact, from one perspective, they are right.
Indeed, it is truly a wonderful tool that allows us to have virtually all the advances of human civilization at our fingertips. And if we want foreign products, we no longer have to go abroad. But along with these advantages, there are also risks to be aware of.
First of all, there are undoubtedly various scammers who take advantage of the anonymity of the Internet. Then they ask us to pay for a product that we ultimately do not receive. Of course, we never see the money.
Or they may pretend to be someone else. There are well-known e-mails from Nigerian and other princes offering to send us large sums of money if we pay the necessary fees. It should go without saying that this is a scam. Yet, as many newspaper headlines indicate, people are still falling for this scam.
Far more pernicious, however, are those who try to lure children and youths in particular somewhere for the purpose of kidnapping, for example. Fortunately, this is not as common as many parents think. However, this does not mean that this danger does not exist.
It goes without saying that there are hackers who will try to access our data, especially our banking data. They can take out our bank accounts and various personal information we have stored on our computers.
Therefore, we need to exercise some caution on the Internet, especially when interacting with others. We can never know who is sitting on the other side of the screen and what their true intentions are.
