Why the Internet is no longer wired

Perhaps everyone is just a little old and remembers that classic sound when the Internet is dialed. This was due, among other things, to the fact that he was guided by a telephone cable and used his device. The side effect was that when surfing the Internet, the connection speed was significantly reduced or the whole thing fell, so the phone could not be used.

Of course, this was not an ideal situation, so they began to look for another solution. Also, the number of landline lines began to decline sharply with the advent and spread of mobile phones. People wanted to connect to the Internet, but they didn\’t want to pay for a phone that they didn\’t really need.

The result of this development is the radio signals that are used today. It works very easily – the transmitter sends it, and the home modem or router receives it. No wiring is required. The disadvantage, however, is that they are often not of the same quality as possible, as obstacles such as trees and tall houses often get in the way.

Therefore, the question arises why it is not actually wired to provide a much better connection. The reason, of course, is finance. Running a cable, whether overhead or underground, is not cheap. In addition, it is also necessary to take care of their maintenance. It is much cheaper to simply build the already mentioned transmitter.

Indeed, as technology improves both on the transmitter side and on the receiver side, it turns out that this method is absolutely enough for most people. Sure, there are organizations that really need reliable Internet access, but not many of them. An ordinary person is happy with the transmitted air – that is, if he does not live in a place where the signal is blocked.

At the moment, this seems to be the way to go. And we need to acknowledge that it is the most effective one that we are currently free to use.
